Feast or Famine was created by Rob Tucker for an assembly with Year 9 during Fairtrade fortnight. It had a tremendous impact. This prompted the Year Group to raise sponsorship for a child in Africa. Rob has also used this as a starter when teaching development to KS 3&4.

Rio city of contrasts

This movie was created as part of the Leading in Learning initiative and its based on the map from memory technique. It includes a task for the pupils - to design a map from memory template to learn about quality of life contrasts in Rio.

The pupils had lessons in English and Science in the 2 days preceding geography, and they used the map from memory (collective memory) technique in these lessons so they were very familiar with it by the time they came to the geography lesson. This brilliant resource is provided by Katharine. Thanks I used this with success!
